Barley and the Sun
The spring rain and the summer sun meet, thanks to the farmers’ effort.
The barley, which is necessary to obtain the most important ingredient of beer,
namely malt, is cultivated with care. To brew its beer Türk Tuborg uses the best
barley in Turkey and in the world. The barley malt we use is certificated as
number one quality. What gives our beer its unique taste,
aroma and color is our high quality barley mallt.
Malt
The well-selected barley is analyzed according to quality parameters, cleaned, graded
and left to rest in water during a process called “steeping” after it reaches the factory.
After this process, the barley is then transferred to special boxes to germinate and
left to dry in ovens as it turns into malt.
Mashing
Malt is mixed with fresh water, obtained from a single source,
to form a mash and then taken to special boilers. After mashing,
the period in which we wait patiently starts. The whole process is conducted
with 100% natural methods and there are no rice, sugar, sugar syrup,
glucose, fructose, corn, enzymes or preservatives added.
Hops
The mash then passes through a filter to get rid of its residue and becomes
the ‘wort’. Then, the wort is mixed with hops, which gives beer its characteristic
taste and then the mixture is boiled in special designed boiler. While brewing our beer,
the world’s best quality and naturally cultivated hops is used.
Fermantation and Maturation
The must is cooled to the appropriate fermentation temperature. Purified beer yeast,
joins the must. The yeast transforms the must into beer by producing alcohol, aroma and carbondioxide.
No enzymes or additives are added at these stages. Now the quest is to reach the desired taste and aroma.
The beer goes through a maturation process in which it ages and cools down.
Filtration
The beer is ready to be bottled when the taste and the flavor reach the right
composition. It is taken to the filtration system where the beer is centrifuged
and filtered where we completely get rid of haze creating particles.
Bottling and Canning
Sterilized bottles, cans and kegs are filled with beer on a conveyor belt.
Pressure is applied in order to prevent the effervescence of beer during the filling process.
Upon completion of all these procedures, the packages filled with beer are sent to distribution centers.
